The mother-in-law of Bishop Silas Owiti Oduor of the Christ Glory Centre Ministry has died following a short illness. Anjeline Akoth Awiti died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu on Monday, September 21.

The bishop posted a brief tribute to his mother-in-law on Tuesday morning, writing “rest in peace mama” and requesting friends for prayers.

The deceased was the mother of Belinda Awiti, the bishop’s wife. The couple wedded in September 2023.

In a statement to the Siaya West Tribune on Wednesday, October 7, Bishop Oduor described his mother-in-law as a devoted Christian, a generous mother, and a close friend to him. She was a member of the Ladies of Vision Ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and served as a church elder.

Her death has deeply shocked the family, the bishop said, adding that they were relying on “God’s able hands” for comfort and hope.
