First Siaya West police commander Polycarp Otieno arrives

Siaya West first police commander Polycarp Otieno will be based at the headquarters in Uranga while overseeing police operations across the sub-county.

The first administration police commander for the Siaya West sub-county was posted last month, a source with knowledge of the details told the Tribune. His name is Chief Inspector Polycarp Otieno.

Mr. Otieno will oversee the administration police operations within Siaya West from Uranga, the sub-county headquarters.

AP officers handle a variety of law enforcement and administrative support tasks, including protection of government officials and government facilities.

The arrival of the AP commander marks another significant step in making Siaya West sub-county operational. It comes as Siaya West DCC Noah Logwatale settles down following his posting in February.

Mr. Logwatale has been assigned a secretary and more staff members are expected to be added to his office.

Since his posting, the DCC has made limited public appearances outside the headquarters compound. He has been receiving briefings from his officers and deliberating with various stakeholders in Siaya West.

Mr. Logwatale previously served in the Coast region before he was posted here.
