Siaya West DCC Noah Logwatale warns bad actors

Siaya West Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Noah Logwatale has warned individuals engaging in criminal and harmful activities, saying that security agencies will step up efforts to maintain law and order in the sub-county.
Mr. Logwatale was speaking on Tuesday, October 20, during the 2026 Mashujaa Day celebrations at the Usonga Library grounds, where he led the event.
The DCC warned against a range of practices, including gender-based violence, child labour, and political incitement. He also reiterated warnings against illicit brews, illegal sand harvesting on private farms, and men eloping with schoolgirls. The DCC further directed local administrators to ensure that night discos are not allowed at funerals in their respective areas.
Mr. Logwatale said security agencies would also intensify efforts to tackle robberies targeting homes and business premises.
He said additional security officers and equipment would soon be deployed in Siaya West to strengthen the administration’s ability to respond to security challenges. He attributed some of the existing difficulties to inadequate personnel and resources.
Mr. Logwatale also urged farmers to take advantage of subsidised farm inputs to improve crop production and strengthen food security. He called on residents in flood-prone areas to remain alert during the rainy season.
The Mashujaa Day celebrations in Usonga brought together national and county government officials, religious leaders, and the business community. Among those present were Siaya West Police Commander Polycarp Otieno and Uranga ACC Peter Namutale. Siaya West chiefs, including Paul Kanot of Usonga, Camlus Agara of West Alego and Simon Olwendo of South West Alego, were also present.
