SC Young Ballers from Uradi are the champions of the 2025-26 season of the West Alego league. But they won the title on goal difference, not solid points.

It was a case of Uhuyi tripping up Sudhe in their final act, allowing Uradi to edge ahead by a whisker.

The final matches of the season were played on March 1. Going into those matches, Sudhe FC were top with two points ahead of Young Ballers.

Sudhe faced Uhuyi FC in their final match, but Uhuyi proved so stubborn that the match ended in a barren draw. That meant Sudhe collected only a single point from that match to finish the season with 48 points overall.

On the other hand, Young Ballers took on Mwer FC in their final match and won 1-0 to earn three points. Adding that to the 45 points they had going into that final match, the Uradi boys finished the season with 48 points. That put them in a tie with Sudhe.

When such a scenario arises in soccer competitions, they look to secondary measures of performance to decide the winner. In this case, they looked at the goal difference, and Young Ballers came ahead with five more goals than Sudhe.

That sealed Sudhe’s fate, otherwise the defending champions were on the cusp of making history as the first club to win the league title for two seasons in a row.

Both Sudhe and Young Ballers played 20 matches, winning 15, drawing 3, and losing 2. The Young Ballers advanced rapidly in the second leg of the season, which kicked off in December. They had been in third place at the end of the first leg.

Sidok FC finished the season in third place with 37 points. They won 11 matches, drew 4, and lost 5.

Maalim FC placed fourth with 30 points. Their run shows 8 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses. The club, which is composed of teachers working in West Alego, made its league debut in the 2025-26 season.

They advanced rapidly in the first leg where they climbed to second place on the table. But their fortunes reversed sharply in the second leg, leading to an unremarkable finish for the knowledge dispensers.

Sirinde FC rounded out the top five list with 26 points. They recorded 8 wins, 2 draws, and 10 losses. Kabura Talents FC also finished with 26 points and a performance that matched Sirinde’s, but they fell short on goal difference.

The West Alego soccer league, launched in 2023, features just under a dozen teams. That is only a fraction of the active clubs in West Alego ward. Clubs that have not yet joined the league include Gangu, Obama, and Unyolo.
